I’ll Be Home For Christmas: The Heart Behind Our 2025 Greenville Décor & Ball

"We begin Christmas decor planning at least 6 months in advance. We want our brides, their families, and our community to walk in and experience a sense of awe, that feeling that something extraordinary has unfolded while no one was looking.” - Wendy Mercer, Creative Director at Ava Laurénne Bride

Each Christmas season, Ava Laurénne Bride transforms into something far greater than a beautifully decorated boutique. Our space becomes a place where wonder returns, where the atmosphere itself honors the significance of the moment a bride is stepping into. But this year in Greenville, that transformation carries a deeper meaning than ever before. To understand the heart behind our 2025 Christmas theme, we must begin not with ornaments or color palettes, but with a single word that quietly guides everything we do: Freedom. At the foundation of the Ava Laurénne brand is our commitment to freeing the bride, freeing her from pressure, comparison, insecurity, or worry. We strive to create an experience rooted in joy and celebration, one where she feels liberated to trust her own voice and savor a once-in-a-lifetime decision without fear.

So why center freedom in our 2025 Christmas décor theme?

Because July 4th, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a profound milestone in our nation’s story. As the official commemoration draws near, we knew this Christmas offered the perfect moment to honor such an extraordinary anniversary.

Yet the challenge remained: How do we pay homage to this historic moment at Christmastime without drifting into a Christmas-in-July aesthetic?

The answer, and the name of our 2025 theme, came beautifully into focus: "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

Our design team, led by the incomparable Wendy Mercer, alongside Dane Mercer and Jake Mercer, crafted a timeless and dignified patriotic tribute inspired by the elegance of 1930s–1950s inaugural and military balls. Imagine post-war soirées, velvet gowns, golden accents, and a spirit of hope. Wendy drew from the quiet pride of military families, the anticipation of loved ones returning home, and the warm nostalgia found in Norman Rockwell paintings.

The result exceeded every expectation, visually stunning, emotionally resonant, and deeply tender. A love letter to coming home. A tribute to belonging. A reflection of the gift of freedom.

Navy and gold define the palette, with carefully restrained touches of red. The effect is elegant, reverent, nostalgic, and unmistakably Ava Laurénne Bride, a sophisticated nod to service, sacrifice, and the beauty of homecoming.

We decorate with such intentionality because we want every bride who walks through our doors to carry something lasting with her, a moment in her life that is so thoughtful and beautiful that it becomes part of her memory forever.
